There is growing disappointment in the White House with Kyiv's inability to lower the mobilization age and recruit more soldiers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The declared 160,000 is not enough to counter the Russians effectively.

This was reported in The Washington Post on Monday, December 2.

The White House is disappointed

The Biden administration believes that the main problem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not a shortage of ammunition or Western weapons, but the inability of the authorities to mobilize and train enough men to compensate the losses on the battlefield. Frustration is also caused by resistance to US calls to lower the draft age in Ukraine from 25 to 18 years.

The White House reported that they have the resources to train an entire brigade of recruits abroad.

At the same time, Biden called on Kyiv to seize the opportunity to mobilize significantly more people than 160,000. This is the number voiced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenko.

Previously, we wrote that the issue of returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine is not considered as a part of military assistance from the United States. However, America is still focused on strengthening the country's positions on the battlefield and in negotiations.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the main skeptics of Ukraine's accession to NATO are the United States, Hungary and Germany.
